Rangers defender on the left Galatasaray has identified Ridvan Yilmaz as their “number one” target for the post in January.

The Turkish international has been the subject of a lot of conjecture this transfer window, according to rumors that Rangers turned

down Galatasaray’s initial loan offer earlier in the month.

Additionally, Rangers manager Philippe Clement asserted that the 22-year-old would not be moving unless a team offered to pay

Ridvan Yilmaz’s estimated £3.5 million.

Ridvan’s dedication to the Rangers cause is further reinforced by the fact that, despite the obvious fact that the Gers won’t be giving up

anytime soon, Galatasaray is still being brought up.

Ridvan Yilmaz Galatasaray’s “number one” target

The Turkish Super Lig giants have been namedropped by journalist Kutlu Akinpinar,

who was clipped speaking on Tivibu Spor earlier today.

The tweet that is attached to the video says that Galatasaray has identified Ridvan Yilmaz as its “number one” left-back target, despite

the fact that the statements are in Turkish.

The journalist also states that Wilfried Zaha, Victor Nelsson, and Sacha Boey of Galatasaray are the subject

of transfer interest, despite the fact that no formal bids have been submitted.

Ridvan Yilmaz isn’t the only name interesting Galatasaray either, with the Turkish giants said to be looking out for a new number 8.

Rangers left-back transfer latest

Whilst the Ridvan Yilmaz saga has been the story of Rangers’ transfer window to date, the links to Galatasaray and other potential

suitors had cooled in recent days.

It comes with Serie A side Verona – strongly linked to Ridvan throughout the window – opting to move

elsewhere following the sale of Josh Doig.

It’s left the Ridvan Yilmaz situation fairly open ended with reports earlier in the window suggesting

the Ibrox left-back doesn’t actually want a return to Turkey.

Additionally, Rangers will require a backup left-back option in the event that Ridvan or squadmate Borna Barisic leave Ibrox, as stated

by Philippe Clement.

The matter will eventually come to a head because the window is about to enter its last week.

Though there are many connections to Galatasaray, Ridvan Yilmaz doesn’t exactly seem eager to leave Rangers.
