Journalist doubles down on Gers transfer report, suggests done deal

Mohamed Diomande appears to be on his way to Rangers in the next days,

indicating a significant shift in the club’s stance.

Rangers manager Philippe Clement needs to improve his roster,

but he also needs to cultivate youngsters who can help his team and make money for the club in the future.

Rangers may have found someone who can do both in Mohamed Diomande,

and the journalist who broke the news appears to be sure that a deal is inevitable.

There is no rumour about Mohamed Diomande joining Rangers.

Farzam Abolhosseini, a football correspondent for Danish media outlet BT,

broke the news linking the Ivorian and has inside information on this fascinating  transfer..

After describing when DIomande could join the Rangers,

the reporter responded to one fan who had become aware of the latest transfer speculation

by referring to it as a “transfer rumour,” which enraged Abolhosseini.

“Rumour? Please go to sleep again.”

He looks to be quite confident.

On the surface, it appears that Clement does not require further midfield depth; nevertheless,

with Ryan Jack out of contract, Kieran Dowell unable to remain fit,

and Jose Cifuentes not appearing to be a good match for Scottish football, fresh legs are not a terrible idea.

The other factor is that Clement has inherited midfielders who are hybrids and not true experts in any one position.

Mohamed Diomande is the type of player Rangers have been looking for:

a natural number eight who can withstand pressure, construct attacks, and contribute in the final third.

We’ve seen a number of reports and what appears to be players that have been offered to Rangers leak,

but this comes after Italian journalist Luca Bendoni broke the news about Fabio Silva’s transfer to Ibrox.

With additional incomings predicted,

it would be surprising to see the pattern shift and the current radio quiet from the club maintained.

Clement, like with previous press conferences, appears to be reluctant to reveal any information.
