Celtic plans to hijack Rangers interest scuppered by Premier League giants
After Liverpool gave Owen Beck his debut against Bournemouth, Celtic’s attempts to take advantage of the rumored Rangers interest in the player were botched.
Beck, 21, is rumored to have been the target of early approaches from both the Old Firm and the Reds,
but the left-back was recalled earlier in January.
The Welshman reportedly turned heads at Rangers and Celtic when on loan at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership
during the first half of the season.
But after coming off the bench in Liverpool’s 4-0 victory at the Vitality, any chance that Owen Beck would make a
comeback to the North this January has been dashed.
Rangers, Celtic linked Owen Beck in Liverpool debut
In the 83rd minute of Liverpool’s match against Bournemouth, Owen Beck made his Premier League debut by taking
Connor Bradley’s place.
With two goals from Diogo Jota and one from Darwin Nunez, Jurgen Klopp’s team was ahead three goals to none.
Owen Beck’s debut was unforgettable because to a late goal from Uruguayan forward Nunez, who cut off ties to both
Celtic and Rangers as soon as the left-back took the field.
