Celtic’s latest 3-0 victory over St Mirren boosted their chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title.

Brendan Rodgers’ side leads the table by eight points,

but rivals Rangers continue to pose a threat in this rollercoaster of a season.

The Gers have a critical two games in hand,

which will reduce the margin to two points and potentially put pressure on the reigning Champions.

Meanwhile, both sides have been connected with a number of prospective new signings as

they seek to bolster their squads during the January transfer window.

We’re more than halfway through, so let’s take a look at some of the recent rumours.

Rangers ‘agreed fee’ for midfielder

Rangers have ‘arranged a fee’ to sign midfielder Mohamed Diomande from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland.

According to local outlet B.T, the 22-year-old is scheduled to fly home from

the club’s US training camp on Sunday for a medical at Ibrox ‘in the coming days’.

Diomande’s contract is set to expire at the end of 2024, but Rangers hope to get his services much earlier.

The emerging Superliga star is highly versatile;

he is a central midfielder by profession but can also play as a centre striker and left winger.

Diomande has seven goals and four assists for Nordsjaelland last season.

Celtic’s Premier League signing could yet happen.

Celtic have been linked with a transfer for Liverpool’s Owen Beck,

who spent the first half of the season on loan at Dundee FC.

The 21-year-old was recalled in the new year as Jurgen Klopp faces a defensive injury problem,

but the Hoops are still keen in signing Beck.

According to Record Sport, Rodgers and co. could make a permanent offer for

Beck after their original loan offer was rejected.

The manager is thought to be seeking for another left-back to push Greg Taylor,

although it is unclear whether Klopp will incorporate the kid into his Liverpool squad

while Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are absent.

They are anticipated to return from  injury by February,

so Celtic could just get lucky with an approach.
