The 23-year-old has been linked to a number of clubs in recent months,

including Leeds United and Leicester City.

O’Riley has received a lot of praise for his efforts in the Premiership,

making 21 appearances this season and contributing 10 goals and 7 assists.

In addition, he has gained a call-up to the Danish national team,

and this summer’s European Championship campaign may feature a large role for the team.

Matt O’Riley transfer interest

Although they have both been mentioned as potential suitors for O’Riley in the past,

Leeds and Leicester have not been able to persuade Celtic to sell.

They have competition from European teams Girona and Inter Milan,

who are both vying for the midfield player.

While Inter is leading Serie A,

Girona is leading the Spanish top flight league at the moment.

Leeds and Leicester could benefit from a summer relocation since their futures will already be decided by then.

One of the biggest obstacles to persuading the Danish international to leave Celtic may be their Championship status.

However, O’Riley might be persuaded to seek a transfer to English football in the event of promotion to the Premier League.

It was earlier claimed that Celtic had asked for £25 million for the player—a sum that a team in the second division could find difficult to meet.

Following their relegation from the Premier League the previous season,

both clubs are vying for immediate promotion back.

The Foxes have a seven-point advantage over Ipswich Town,

who are in second position, at the top of the Championship table.

On Monday night, though,

Enzo Maresca’s team plays the Tractor Boys in a match that is critical to the race for automatic promotion.
