Rangers demand £5m+ to sell player after he agrees exit – report

According to Ali Naci Kucuk, Rangers allegedly requested £5.1 million in order to sell Ridvan Yilmaz during the January transfer window.

The Turkish journalist said via Bandiera Sport on X that Galatasaray had only made a half-hearted offer and that negotiations were at an impasse about a possible transfer.
While there are rumors that Yilmaz reached a decision regarding the relocation, Philippe Clement has stated unequivocally that he will not be staying at Ibrox.

Rangers would be foolish to let Yilmaz depart the team this summer.

Letting the young Turkish international go would be a waste of all that, as he is now enjoying a run of games at Ibrox, performing well while Borna Barisic is out with an injury and his contract is expiring.
Rangers had to give him credit because they had to spend millions of their own funds to transfer him from Besiktas to Glasgow. This is likely his first run of games that he has played consistently.

These days, it could be more advantageous to go elsewhere, like the final third, as the situation at left-back is not so dire that a new player needs to be brought in and the current one needs to be sold.

Galatasaray and Rıdvan Yılmaz came to an agreement, but Rangers demanded €6 million (£5.1 million) while Galatasaray was only willing to provide €3 million.

Galatasaray doesn’t seem to be close to meeting the demands of Rangers at this point, so we can safely assume that, without a major turnaround, there won’t be a departure in the upcoming days.

This mess at left-back is not helping anyone, therefore Clement and the Rangers board need to start focusing on the last third right away.
