Three changes have been made to Philippe Clement’s Rangers starting team for their Scottish Cup match against Dumbarton on Saturday night.

Rabbi Matondo, Robby McCrorie, and Nicolas Raskin have replaced Jack Butland, Kieran Dowell,

and Abdallah Sima on the team.

Clement’s only signing of the window so far Fabio Silva starts on the bench with Cyriel Dessers named

in the lineup as the number nine, while exit-linked Ridvan Yilmaz starts at left-back.

Along with more seasoned players Borna Barisic and Leon Balogun, young youngsters Bailey Rice and Adam Devine are also on the bench.

The winter break usually marks the midway part of the season and Rangers are now in a position where they

know what they need to do in order to be successful.

Although the losses to Hertha Berlin and Copenhagen weren’t the best preparation for this match, Clement would have been happy to

spend more time with his players on the training field so he could further apply his ideas.

This is a chance for some players to compete for a spot in the starting lineup as well as for the club to get back into the swing of things before the return to SPFL action in midweek.

Due to the club’s ongoing injury problem, there are several positions available where a player can advance in the team with just a few strong performances.

Although it will be interesting to watch how the team responds to the unfavorable playing conditions, Gers supporters will be looking

for a convincing victory, so it will be up to the players to perform today.
