Chargers complete interview with Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys, was interviewed by the Chargers for the head coaching post;

the organization made the announcement on Friday.

Quinn has completed interviews with the Panthers and Titans, making him a popular contender this hiring season.

Permission to interview him was also requested by the Commanders and Seahawks.

Quinn, who calls defensive plays for the Cowboys, just finished his third season in that role.

In terms of yards allowed per game (299.7), passing yards allowed per game (187.4),

and points allowed per game (18.5) this season,

his team placed in the top five. The Cowboys had 46 sacks and 26 takeaways.

But they didn’t play well against the Packers in the wild-card round. After Dak Prescott’s other touchdown,

the Cowboys gave up a postseason franchise-worst 48 points, which included a pick-six and a 19-yard drive.

According to reports, if Quinn is not hired as head coach, the Cowboys want him back as their defensive coordinator.

Before taking a job as head coach in Atlanta,

Quinn was also the coordinator for the Seahawks during their Super Bowl victory.

Quinn led the Falcons to Super Bowl LI, where they lost to the Patriots after blowing a 28-3 lead.

Eleven other job candidates have been interviewed by the Chargers.
