Titans Complete Coaching Interview with Dallas Cowboys DC Dan Quinn
Nashville – On Wednesday, the Tennessee Titans conducted a virtual interview with Dan Quinn,
who is currently the only applicant with NFL head coaching experience for the position.
Quinn, 53, had the interview on Wednesday for the position that became available
when Mike Vrabel was sacked by Adams Strunk.
Quinn joined the 49ers as a defensive quality control coach in 2001, when he started his NFL career.
In 2009, he joined Pete Carroll’s staff as an assistant head coach with the Seahawks after overseeing defensive lines for the 49ers, Dolphins, and Jets.
Quinn served as defensive coordinator at the University of Florida and Seattle twice before taking over as
head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in 2015–2020. In 2016,
his Falcons made it to the Super Bowl,
but they famously lost in overtime to the New England Patriots after blowing a 28-3 lead.
Virtual interviews for the Titans coaching vacancy have also been conducted with offensive coordinators Brian Callahan of the Bengals, Mike MacDonald of the Baltimore Ravens, interim coach Antonio Pierce of the Las Vegas Raiders, and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka of the Giants. There were rumours circulating on Wednesday that Callahan would be receiving a follow-up interview in person.
The Detroit Lions’ Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson, the Houston Texans’ Bobby Slowik, the Philadelphia Eagles’ Brian Johnson, and the Carolina Panthers’ Thomas Brown are the teams with whom the Titans have yet to seek interviews.
