Rangers face competition from Germany for signing – Philippe Clement may miss loan deal
There might be fierce competition for Rangers to sign David Jurasek from Benfica soon.
Despite recent reports from Portugal suggesting that Philippe Clement’s Rangers are interested in signing the fullback,
Hoffenheim is currently the focus of attention in the German press.
According to Kicker, the Bundesliga team has been searching “for a long time” for a left-back,
so they may attempt to recruit Jurasek on a loan agreement that lasts until the end of the current campaign.
It’s intriguing that Hoffenheim appears to have a clean route to sign him,
as the piece makes no mention of Rangers or any other teams that might be in the running for the deal.
Since Benfica spent €14 million on the player’s arrival last summer and
are unable to find a spot for him in the lineup,
it is no secret that they are willing to let him go.
Rangers was mentioned as one among the interested teams this week when it was suggested in Portugal that
the Eagles might use “creative” tactics to negotiate the player’s departure.
We will now wait to see if Rangers genuinely try to compete for the signing,
or if Hoffenheim will make a play for him.
