The Celtics are an absolute wagon at home.

After beating up on the San Antonio Spurs 117-98 on Wednesday night,

Boston is now 20-0 (!!) at the TD Garden to begin the 2023-24 season.

On average, they’re beating their opponents

by 15.7 points per game at home (good for first in the NBA), and on aggregate, they’re outscoring them by 313.

12 of their 20 wins at home have been by double digits (h/t Justin Turpin, WEEI).

So, with 21 games remaining on the parquet, can they really finish the season unbeaten on Causeway?

If you think so, you can bet on it at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Here are the odds for them to go 41-0 at TD Garden this season

At home, Boston Celtics will win 41-0. +6000

Although it is feasible, it is quite unlikely that they will accomplish this accomplishment.

No NBA club in history has ever had a perfect home season, regardless of the +6000 odds.

Just two teams have a single defeat (40-1): the San Antonio Spurs of 2015–16 and the Celtics of 1985–86.

The Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla was questioned about his team’s 20-0 home record and the prospect of matching the

’86 squad’s 40-1 record after their thrashing of the Spurs on Wednesday.

He remarked of the ’86 squad, “I didn’t realize they did that till now.

It’s quite difficult to chase after things that are beyond our control.

To be honest, we haven’t really set out to go 20-0. There are many records, traditions,

and great players in Celtics basketball, and if you chase them all,

you’re bound to let yourself down or have an unhealthy

relationship with success. The goal has been to forge a connection and an identity with the city and the team,

so that they can give us this lift and this level of support that they have.

As Bobby Manning of CLNS Media noted,

their winning ways in these games might be even more remarkable than their home winning streak.

This is a passage from Wednesday’s post-game column written by Manning:

Even more remarkable than the Celtics’ perfect home record—which broke the 1986 squad’s record of 17 games won

at the beginning of the season—was the eighth different starting lineup that Boston used to start the San Antonio game.

Over their last five home victories, they have courted four different starting lineups: they defeated the Rockets

with their usual starting five, defeated Minnesota with Horford replacing Porzingis in the game,

and managed to slip past Toronto without Horford or Kristaps.

The defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets will visit TD Garden on Friday night when the Celtics return home.

ESPN will broadcast the game starting at 7:30 p.m.

It’s 21-0 in the end.
