David Jurasek ready to seal Rangers move with bid now on table
Rangers have made a “good offer” to sign Benfica defender David Jurasek on loan in the January transfer window, according to dailysp0rt news
The website stated on January 17 that Rangers are in a “strong position” because they have already moved,
even in the face of a Bundesliga club’s bid for the defender.
Benfica is only interested in a loan arrangement,
while Jurasek is reportedly keen to moving to Scotland.
The transaction may be completed as soon as next week.
First replacement
Clement has made it quite evident that the left-back position is vulnerable,
taking strong positions against Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz,
both of whom have been connected to departures from the team.
The Gers would need to find a replacement left-back before the summer because the latter’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the current campaign.
Even though Jurasek moved to Portugal in the summer,
he has only made 12 appearances for Benfica since leaving Slavia Prague.
Jurasek also has five caps for the Czech Republic already.
The 23-year-old, who has nine goals at the senior level, might be the attacking full-back Clement is looking for to mimic James Tavernier’s play on the right wing.
The Belgian will be hoping that by making an early offer,
they will convince Benfica to sign him before other teams, including a Bundesliga team and many English clubs, are able to do the same.
In other Rangers news, there has been an update on the £4.8 million bid as progress is made in the Gers’ attempt to add a January player.
