Cameron Pring, the left-back for Bristol City, is expected to leave Ashton Gate in January

as Scottish powerhouse Rangers is rumored to be considering a £2 million move for the player, according to the News.

According to reports from the Scottish Sun, Rangers have made Pring a target as they appear poised to lose

first-team left-back Ridvan Yilmaz in January.

Following Yilmaz’s stellar 2023–24 season, Pring is apparently viewed by Gers manager Philippe Clement as

the ideal Yilmaz replacement.

Pring has made 28 appearances in all competitions so far this season,

showcasing his flexibility as a left-back who can also play in central defense and left midfield.

The defender recently demonstrated his ability to play in the final third,

recording two assists in the Robins’ 3-2 victory over Hull and scoring in the 4-1 victory over Watford.

Pring joined Bristol City in 2016 after going through the junior system with the Robins.

The defender was loaned out to a number of teams as part of his development,

including Newport County, Cheltenham, Walsall, and Portsmouth.

As a result, since returning from his loan spell at Portsmouth in January 2021,

the 25-year-old has accrued over 150 professional appearances and secured a regular berth at Ashton Gate.

Pring has made 90 appearances since making his debut with the Robins’ first squad in 2021, and he has consistently delivered.

Given that the Rangers seem really interested in Pring, Liam Manning might have to let him go this January.

To increase their transfer budget and persuade Bristol City to sell, an offer of £2 million would be sufficient.

Manning will be concerned, though, by the lack of a suitable left-back option,

as 21-year-old Haydon Roberts has only made 10 appearances in all competitions.

Furthermore, Manning might not have enough time in the final two weeks of the

transfer window to look for a more seasoned Pring substitute.
