Aston Villa now want to sign £17m attacker who Jadon Sancho says is absolutely ‘great’

Villa are having an incredible season, enjoying nearly unthinkable success in the Premier League so far. With the season hanging

precariously close coming into the January transfer window, it appears Unai Emery does want to bolster.

And since a Champions League berth for the upcoming campaign appears to be within reach, it appears Villa will try to make progress

during the January transfer window.

Along with new players joining the team, Emery is expected to rearrange a number of his players,

since one 28-year-old is now free to depart.

It’s possible that these exits are meant to finance Villa’s hopes of adding a winger to their roster this month.

Football Transfers also claims that Emery may have finally discovered the one.

Giovanni Reyna of Borussia Dortmund is reportedly up for sale this month, which may surprise some football fans.

But despite previously having a reputation as one of the world’s best up-and-coming talents, Reyna is struggling to progress at Dortmund.

The 21-year-old hasn’t scored a single goal this season, making just two starts across all competitions.

Although it’s unclear if Villa will try to sign Reyna permanently or on loan this month, this report claims the forward is available for

about £17 million.

And it might end up being a good deal given Reyna’s stellar reputation.

Of course, part of the reason Reyna may leave Dortmund this month is the return of Jadon Sancho.

The Manchester United winger has decided it best to return to the Bundesliga to get his career back on track – with Reyna possibly

now making that move in reverse.

That being said, Sancho was incredibly complimentary about Reyna’s skill set when playing with him before.

“I think Gio is a great player, I feel like he’s going to be one of the next best players here at Dortmund,” Sancho stated in a statement

obtained by the Bundesliga.I simply like watching him play and getting to play with him every week,

and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Reyna hasn’t quite reached his full potential, which is sad considering that those statements were made back in 2020.

However, his career trajectory might be altered if he were to join Villa during the January transfer window.

Naturally, Villa does appear to have a lot of ambitious goals in mind for this month.
