The Baltimore Ravens are currently concentrated on making the playoffs,

but when the next season begins, their coaching staff might look very different.

The focus of coaching searches across the league has been on the assistant coaches,

defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, and offensive coordinator Todd Monken of the Ravens.

It is inevitable that coordinators and assistants for Baltimore will advance to other teams,

where they may take on head coaching or coordinator roles, but Monken isn’t thinking about that right now.

“The bottom line is we have a chance to do something special here,” Monken stated.

“Our team and our focus is on this week, where we’re headed,

finding out this weekend who we’re playing [in the Divisional round] and

then coming up with a great gameplan giving us the best chance to be successful next week.”

In his first season as offensive coordinator, Monken has designed a

Ravens offence that ranked fourth in points per game (28.4) and

first in the league in running yards (156.5). Lamar Jackson, the quarterback,

is a lock to earn his second MVP award after throwing for a career-high 3,678 yards

with 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

In addition, he ran 821 yards and five touchdowns.

Monken has conducted interviews for head coaching positions with

the Carolina Panthers and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Because of his success leading the Ravens defence,

Macdonald has emerged as one of the most well-liked possibilities this coaching cycle.

They were first in the league in turnovers (31), points allowed per game (16.5), and sack totals (60).

In addition to requests from the Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks,

and Tennessee Titans, he has conducted interviews with the Panthers and Atlanta Falcons.

Due to the performance of the defence, passing game coordinator Chris Hewitt and

defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson are interviewing for

defensive coordinator positions with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Giants, respectively.

“We have phenomenal people here, and the organisation and the team

has helped us put us in these types of situations [and with] all these coaches,

you understand what type of talented people that we have,” Macdonald stated.

“So, I’m excited for the coaches that have opportunities that definitely deserve it,

phenomenal human beings, great leaders, great coaches ,

so you’re rooting for them throughout the process,

and I think that also, we all understand that there’s a mission here involved as well.”
