Ridvan Yilmaz Rangers transfer exit bid rejected as Galatasaray proposal falls short
Rangers have reportedly rejected Galatasaray’s loan-to-buy proposal for left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.
Although Yilmaz, 22, has been a regular starter for Philippe Clement in recent weeks, he has been strongly linked to
leaving Ibrox this month. After arriving in Glasgow for the first time in July 2022 for £3.4 million from Besiktas, the
Turkey international has taken some time to settle in and has been fighting with seasoned defender Borna Barisic for
a starting spot.
It’s thought that other Italian teams, such as Hellas Verona, are interested in the little full-back, but Galatasaray has
reportedly submitted an official offer, according to Sky Sports. The loan offer, which included a £3.4 million buyout
option, was turned down by the Gers executives.
Yilmaz’s Rangers contract has three and a half years left on it, and the Glasgow giants are eager to cash in on the
player should they want to sell.
When questioned about the young player’s near future yesterday, manager Clement remained evasive while speaking
from the team’s training camp in La Manga. “It is similar to the situation with the rumors about players coming in,”
he stated. Players are still with us as long as they are here and haven’t signed with another team.”
