According to Philippe Clement, Rangers are making every effort to sign new players,

reports Andy Newport in La Manga.

After acquiring Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves earlier this month,

the Ibrox manager has only managed to bring in one new player thus far.

The large Belgian has been connected to a number of other players,

but he hasn’t been successful in closing any more transactions.

There have been rumours of discontent among the Ibrox supporters,

who are anxious to see their club prepare for an important second half of the season.

However, Clement is aware that if the Rangers are to improve on an optimistic start to his term,

he’ll need some quality reinforcements.

Furthermore, he emphasised that no effort is being spared as he,

chief executive James Bisgrove, and recruitment manager Nils Koppen oversee the signing process.

“Everyone is working really hard for that,

to find the right players who can add something extra to the squad,” stated the Gers’ manager.

Though everyone in the club is working really hard to bring players here,

January is typically a challenging month in that regard.

As everyone is expecting and working hard, so am I.

I’m not sure how much it would cost because I know from experience that you can never have it all.

“Maybe the wealthiest teams in the world could pull that off, but not teams like the Rangers. Although it is considerably simpler in the summer, we will still strive to make it as good as we can during this time.

Clement was commenting following his strange dismissal from

Saturday’s La Manga bounce-game match against Hertha Berlin. Seven minutes after halftime,

he was sent off for reacting angrily to a late tackle on Scott Wright.

The 200 supporters of the German team who accompanied them to

the Spanish resort thought the card-happy local referee would just give them a straight red card,

but instead he left them in disbelief.

After walking past his similarly perplexed teammates, Clement returned to the Gers changing room.

But in the aftermath, he dismissed the event, saying,

“I don’t even want to talk about the red card.” You are aware that odd things occur in the southern countries,

and this is a friendly game. It is not significant.

After a demanding week of double practices,

Clement was more interested in seeing his team put up another strong effort.

Berlin captain Marc Oliver Kempf’s header on the stroke of halftime won the game.

In an attempt to have as many players fit as possible before

his team plays another friendly against Copenhagen at Ibrox on Tuesday night,

he picked two entirely different lineups in each half.

In addition, Ridvan Yilmaz was part of the starting lineup for the first half

even though there have been persistent speculations that he will soon join Verona of Italy.

However, Clement is adamant that he would utilise the Turk as long as he is still a member of his team.

“It’s the same as the situation with the rumours about players coming in,”

the speaker stated. The players are here as long as they haven’t signed with another team.
