Tom Lawrence’s training update is revealed along with Rangers injury news.
Tom Lawrence is back in first-team training with Rangers having recovered from his latest physical setback, according to the Daily Record.
During the Scottish Premiership’s winter break, the newspaper announced on its website on Saturday, January 13,
that the Welsh international is back in training with Philippe Clement’s team as they continue their warm weather
camp in La Manga.
Lawrence may play in Saturday’s friendly match between Rangers and Hertha Berlin, although he is unlikely to start
given that he has only lately accelerated his recuperation.
The 30-year-old was replaced just 18 minutes into the Gers‘ match against Hearts at Tynecastle due to ongoing
injury issues that have dogged his stay at Ibrox. He last played for the Light Blues in the first week of December.
Enormous boost
Over the holiday season, injuries have decimated Clement’s team, especially in several critical areas. The manager of Rangers and their supporters will be relieved to see that players are gradually returning to full fitness.
Lawrence is one of Rangers’ most crucial players, and they will need to have him available and fit as much as possible
if they are to defeat Celtic in the Scottish Premiership this year.
Due to injuries, the Welshman missed the most of his first season at Ibrox and had many fitness issues in the first
half of this year, which has made his start in Glasgow extremely distressing.
Every time Lawrence seems to be settling in at Rangers, it seems like he takes another hit or niggle.
He’ll be hoping to recover from this most recent setback and be able to continue working out and being accessible for
a long time.
When the Welshman is playing, Rangers appear like a lot stronger team, so maybe by the end of the winter break,
he’ll be back up to speed.
