According to Scottish Daily Mail, Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz is rumoured to depart

the training camp over the weekend in order to conclude his deal to Hellas Verona.

The publication said that the Italian team is working harder to sign the out-of-favor

Turkey international in its print version (January 13, Page 109).

Meanwhile, it looks like their first-choice left-back Josh Doig will soon finalise a transfer to Marseille in Ligue 1.

Not perfect

Concerns have been raised by Rangers’ handling of Yilmaz’s transfer to Verona because supporters had hoped for a more decisive move and were disappointed that the midfielder was sent on loan with a buyout clause rather than a permanent agreement.

This strategy puts the team’s second-best left-back in danger of leaving,

and if Verona gets relegated, there is no guarantee that he will return.

The ambiguity surrounding Philippe Clement’s position heightens the confusion around

the transaction and calls into question the club’s decision-making procedure.

In addition, it seems strange that Yilmaz participated in the winter camp during

the time that negotiations were still going on, which aggravates supporters.

It becomes imperative to find a new left-back as soon as possible in order to

preserve defensive strength and squad stability.

Due to the apparent deficiencies in scouting and outgoings decision-making,

Rangers must move quickly to find and acquire a worthy replacement in order to fill the glaring holes in the team.
