Rangers Legend Sees Areas Gers Must Strengthen

Barry Ferguson believes that in the current transfer window,

Rangers manager Philippe Clement needs to bring in a striker and a winger.

In the current transfer window, Rangers have been connected to a number of players.

Clement has made his first signing as manager of the Gers in the form of loaning Wolves’ Fabio Silva.

In addition, the Belgian strategist has allowed summer signing Sam Lammers to sign with Utrecht on loan,

even if Abdallah Sima is unavailable since he is playing in the Africa Cup of Nations,

Ferguson praised Clement for his decision to allow Lammers, who was having trouble settling in at Ibrox,

to go on loan, saying the Rangers manager did so in order to free up salary for possible additions.

The former player for the Gators also emphasised that Clement needs to

concentrate on strengthening his forward lineup this month because a number of players are out and that

the Rangers manager needs to sign a striker and a winger during the current transfer window.

Ferguson stated in his Daily Record column that “that’s [letting Lammers leave on loan] good management in

my book and I’m also positive he has made that decision to free up some

wages for at least one more January signing.”
