Micah Leaving Dallas? Cowboys Joke Goes Viral

FRISCO – Yes, as we have reported, the Dallas Cowboys are getting ready to lose defensive coordinator Dan Quinn in this cycle of NFL head coaching; but no, as we are happy to report to a frightened Cowboys Nation, Dallas does not

have to get ready to say goodbye to Micah Parsons. Quinn, the highly valued top Dallas assistant, is going to get

interviews and likely opportunities of the kind he has turned down in the past two years. Parsons, along with the

organization, is ready for that, and in fact, hopes to use it as inspiration for the postseason.

“Dan’s my guy,” smiled Parsons. And it’s always out of love if he does leave me. You never know, he might take me

with him! Well, we are aware of it. The rookie contract of the 2021 first-round pick is good through 2024, with a

fifth-year option for 2025. Owner Jerry Jones intends to sign Parsons to an extension this summer, which will

obstruct that schedule and make Micah a “Cowboy for Life.”

But Quinn and Micah together?

That one won’t endure indefinitely. Micah is aware of this. Parsons remarked, “That’s like my OG, for real.” He’s very

important to me for reasons beyond just sport. I stated to her throughout our conversation today, “You’re just such a

great mentor.” He does an excellent job, in my opinion, of figuring out how to get around the game and make you

adore it.”

Following the Seattle Seahawks’ split from coach Pete Carroll, a source told CowboysSI.com that Quinn, a former

assistant to Carroll, would rise to the top of Seattle’s “wish list.” He’ll have further opportunities.

Quinn, though, intends to assist Dallas win a Super Bowl in order to better his lot before looking for a new

employment. The Cowboys play Green Bay in the opening game of the postseason today at 3:30 p.m. at AT&T

Stadium. Micah appears to be preparing a DQ homage for when that day arrives and beyond. “I’m going to be

amazing,” Micah declared. “I’m gonna be phenomenal, f****** phenomenal.”
