Cornerback Jaire Alexander of the Green Bay Packers is questionable for Sunday’s wild-card playoff matchup against the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys due to an ankle injury he sustained during practice this week.

(AP) — GREEN BAY, WI Jaire Alexander, a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, injured his ankle during practice

this week. As a result, he may not play against the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys on Sunday in their wild-card

playoff match.

During Wednesday’s practice, which consisted primarily of a jog-through, Alexander “stepped on somebody’s foot

and rolled his ankle,” according to Packers coach Matt LaFleur. On Thursday, Alexander didn’t practice.

LaFleur remarked, “It was kind of a freak deal.”

As they attempt to restrict Pro Bowl receiver CeeDee Lamb, who had an NFL-high 135 catches for the Cowboys (12-5)

and was second in the league with 1,749 yards receiving during the regular season, the Packers (9-8) could definitely

use Alexander.
LaFleur remarked, “I know he’s doing everything he can to be available.” “It’s day to day, and we felt it was obviously

best for him not to practice today,” the speaker said.

Turning 27 on February 9th, Alexander has had an extraordinary season.

Of the 17 regular-season games for the Packers, Alexander only appeared in seven. After missing three games in the

early part of the season due to a back injury, he missed six more due to a shoulder problem.

Alexander played in a Christmas Eve triumph against Carolina after recovering from a shoulder injury, although he

named himself the game’s captain and threw the pregame toss badly.

Alexander was suspended by the Packers for one game for behavior that was harmful to the team following the

Carolina incident; however, he was back in action on Sunday, playing every defensive snap in the team’s 17-9 victory

over the Chicago Bears that guaranteed Green Bay a postseason place.
