Owner of the Baltimore Ravens Steve Bisciotti is a well-known supporter of the University of Maryland, although he has two disclaimers:

he was more noticeable in College Park during the days when his friend Gary Williams was a sideline roamer, and he is more of a Terps basketball enthusiast than a football lover.

He is still a football enthusiast, though. Just a few days after the team added former Maryland standout Jake Funk to its practice roster, head coach John Harbaugh shared some information regarding his boss’s fan base.

Yes, you know, [Funk is a] Maryland man. In fact, as a practice yesterday, Steve is a big Maryland fan as well,

so he knew everything there was to know about Jake’, Harbaugh said of Funk, who has been moving around the league recently after finishing second in the country in terms of yards per rush as a senior three years ago.

According to Harbaugh, “they had a little conversation about the Terps.”

Funk has recently been travelling. He was selected by the Rams in the 2021 NFL Draft and won a Super Bowl ring while still a rookie in Los Angeles.

Since then, he has played for the Saints, Colts, Dolphins, and Ravens, splitting time on rosters and practice squads. However, coming home to him meant more to him than just landing a new job.

“My mother was overjoyed that I could spend the holidays at home with her.

It’s particularly meaningful to be able to visit her for the holidays because my dad only died away last summer. I truly appreciate that,” he said to Fox Baltimore’s Morgan Adsit.

“You need to be adaptable at all times. You must possess the ability to handle various forms of adversity that arise. Basically, all you really need to do is adjust.”
