About Being Horrified by Warriors Supporters During the Past Two Games, Stephen Curry Opens Up
Once a formidable force in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors are currently having a difficult season that has
angered players and fans alike. After the team’s heartbreaking 141-105 defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans, the
team’s star player, Stephen Curry, spoke openly about the team’s problems and the loud dissatisfaction of the
fans.
“We’re obviously struggling, but I don’t even know what to say about it because I don’t want to be a prisoner to
the moment.” Since there’s really nothing to be happy about, it stands to reason that boos would also be cheered.
I don’t interpret it in any particular manner.
“Honestly, I’m booing myself booing our team in my head because of the way we’re playing. So, you know, it is
what it is, fans are going to react the way they want. It’s our job to give them something to cheer about and we
have not done that.”
In a postgame press conference, Curry acknowledged the fans’ discontent and went as far as saying that he would
join in on the booing if he were in their shoes. The Warriors, who once enjoyed a prolonged period of success, are
now grappling with major concerns as they endure blowout losses against the Pelicans and the Toronto Raptors.
Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry is one of the greatest players in NBA history making a name for himself as the greatest three-
point shooter ever and a four-time NBA champion. Curry was born in Akron, Ohio on March 14, 1988, to parents
Dell and Sonya Curry. His father Dell played in the NBA for 16 seasons and his brother Seth is also currently
playing in the NBA for the Brooklyn Nets.
Despite being a bit undersized, Curry played his college basketball at Davidson University where he quickie
made a name for himself as a scorer and shooter. In 2009, he was drafted seventh overall by the Golden State
Warriors and soon showed them that he was their future. Curry would help lead the Warriors to four NBA
championships from 2015 thru 2022 and won one Finals MVP award in those four series. He was named MVP
twice as well including the NBA’s only unanimous MVP award ever after leading the Warriors to an NBA-record
73 wins. Curry is the NBA’s all-time leader in three-point field goals made as well as the single-season record
holder and a two-time scoring champion.
