Report: Bulls Interested In Acquiring Kings’ Kevin Huerter

The Chicago Bulls are interested in acquiring Kevin Huerter from the Sacramento Kings, sources tell HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

After researching Huerter, the Bulls would attempt to get him if they traded Zach LaVine to the Kings.

Additionally, Scotto mentioned that earlier in the season, there had been some discussion about Zach LaVine. “Kevin Huerter and Harrison Barnes were the two names that I had heard mentioned from Sacramento during trade discussions. Huerter is undoubtedly attracting some interest from Chicago.

According to what I understand, they have looked into his background in an effort to determine what’s going on and why he has had some difficulties this year.

He’s a participant that they’ve liked.

Sam Amick of The Athletic, an NBA insider, claims that LaVine would be open to a Sacramento trade that would make him De’Aaron Fox’s backcourt partner.

However, LaVine has no control over where he is traded because his contract lacks a no-trade clause.

Huerter is shooting 41.6% from the field, 33.0% from outside the arc,

and 80.6% from the free-throw line this season while averaging 9.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.3 blocks.

The guard earns $15.7 million annually.

If LaVine, who is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 44.2% from the field,

33.1% from beyond the arc, and 85.4% from the foul line, is traded,

the Bulls don’t want to rebuild. Huerter might join Chicago’s youthful nucleus of Coby White, Patrick Williams, and Ayo Dosunmu; he is only 25 years old.

Huerter, a product of Maryland, has averaged 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.3 blocks in his NBA career while playing for the Atlanta Hawks and Kings.

In October 2021, the native of New York agreed to a four-year, $65 million rookie scale contract deal with the Hawks.
