Rangers transfer twist as seven-figure bid made for player they want to sign – report

Ligue 1 powerhouse Marseille presents new opposition for Rangers in their pursuit of Josh Doig,

as reported by Alfredo Pedulla via Football Scotland.

The Italian reporter for Sport Italia stated on his personal website on January 9 that Marseille,

who are managed by Gennaro Gattuso, a former midfielder for Rangers,

have placed a bid of £4.3 million for the Hellas Verona full-back.

The Serie A team has requested a “slightly higher fixed base,” he continued,

adding Marseille’s interest might result in a marginally larger offer.

According to Football Scotland (10 January), even if Borna Barisic and Ridvan Yilmaz go this month,

Rangers will probably be unable to afford to get Doig.

Doig, who is a sought-after man this month,

is also mentioned as maybe finding a partner in Torino and Udinese.

Without a doubt, Rangers need to strengthen at left-back,
