Tavernier ‘wanted’ by Saudi clubs

According to reports, Saudi Arabian clubs are reportedly interested in signing Rangers captain James Tavernier.

After spending the previous nine years at Ibrox,

the 32-year-old is very close to becoming a Rangers testimonial.

However, football website TEAMTalk claims that he may receive a sizable offer from the Middle East.

A January move would seem improbable given Rangers’ reluctance to discuss any

offer for the defender in the middle of a title fight,

but it might be something to keep an eye on in the summer.

Rangers make a move for a £33 million striker.

Negotiations are set to begin today in an attempt by Rangers to emerge victorious

in the race to acquire Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi.

The 30-year-old is expected to leave Turkish team Fenerbahce in January,

with many teams vying for his services, according to the Scottish Sun.

With 183 goals in his career, including 27 for his nation,

Batshuayi enjoys a great reputation and a goal scoring record to match.

Before winning the Premier League title under Antonio Conte,

he once command a £33 million transfer fee when he moved from Marseille to Chelsea in 2016.

Standard Liege, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, and Besiktas are among his other former teams.

Everton is rumoured to be interested in a loan move,

but Philippe Clement has made an effort to sign his compatriot on a short-term basis.

With his signature secured,

Batshuayi should be able to join the team this week at the winter training camp in La Manga.

Celtic Serie A moves on cards

Celtic supporters are eager to learn about the club’s January additions as

they continue to concentrate on making room in a roster that manager Brendan Rodgers has called “bloated.”

Yosuki Ideguchi, who left earlier this week for a permanent transfer to J-League winners Vissel Kobe,

ignited the winter exodus.

According to sources, Serie A teams are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old centre back Gustaf Lagerbielke.

After joining Parkhead for £3.5 million in the summer from Elfsborg,

Lagerbielke is just six months into a five-year contract,

but he has battled to get playing time, appearing in just two substitute appearances since September.

According to reports in Italy, Lecce and Genoa are reportedly very interested in the Sweden international,

and negotiations are reportedly underway regarding a loan or permanent move.

Rocco Vatta, an 18-year-old midfielder,

is reportedly in advanced talks with Bologna about a January transfer ahead of his contract expiring at

the end of the current campaign.

Vatta is another Celtic kid who is getting close to moving to Italy.

Marseille offered former Hibs player

It has been reported that Josh Doig, a Scotland Under-21 international,

is being chased by French powerhouse Marseille.

The left-back from Hellas Verona had previously been linked to Rangers,

but Torino emerged as the front-runner to sign the 21-year-old and keep him in Serie A.

Marseille is now negotiating a deal to bring Doig to the Vélodrome,

although Foot Mercato claims that they would prefer a loan move

over a permanent transfer during the January window.

Former team Hibs is owed a sell-on fee from any deal,

and Verona is reportedly hoping to pay Doig around £5.5 million.

Duo set for Ibrox exit

In the coming days, two players may be leaving the Rangers.

Sam Lammers is getting close to joining FC Utrecht on loan; according to rumours,

the Dutch team has decided to send the 26-year-old forward back to

his native country for the balance of the year. Since joining Glasgow

in the summer under the direction of former manager Michael Beale,

Lammers has had a difficult time, making just 17 appearances and scoring just two goals.

In the meantime, Ridvan Yilmaz appears destined to sign with Hellas Verona as

the Serie A team attempts to avoid Josh Doig’s seemingly imminent departure.

Positive talks are reportedly underway regarding a possible loan or permanent transfer for the Turkish

Celtic face competition for 20-year-old target

Romeo Amane, a midfielder for Hacken, is reportedly not the only target for Celtic.

The Scottish champions have made the 20-year-old Ivorian midfielder their main target for January.

But, Dutch powerhouse Ajax and two unidentified Ligue 1 teams have reportedly

thrown a wrench into the works by entering the battle for the player who has stood out for

the Swedish team in the Europa League this season, according to French publication Foot Mercato.

Due to Amane’s contract expiring at the end of 2026,

Hacken may be able to negotiate a higher price as more teams show interest.
