A Malik Tillman update from Bayern Munich that will make John Bennett and new transfer head Nils Koppen furious may have delivered Rangers a financial boost blow.

The Daily Record, a Scottish news outlet, reported on January 8 that Tillman’s permanent transfer to PSV may be called off by Bayern Munich,

which would hinder the Light Blues’ prospects of obtaining a large transfer fee.

Rangers now have a longer shot at earning a windfall of £1.4 million since Bayern Munich wants to stop

Tilman from joining the Dutch powerhouses permanently.

Tillman spent the previous season on loan at Ibrox;

however, in order to allow him to join PSV,

the club agreed to give up their option to purchase in exchange for a £1 million payment from Bayern Munich.

In addition, if Tillman decided to extend his loan agreement,

Rangers would receive a 10% sell-on fee.

But that chance now appears to be in risk as Bayern Munich has decided to

inexplicably terminate his permanent contract,

which might have negative short-term effects for Rangers this month.

Even though £1.4 million may not seem like much for Rangers in the grand scope of their hiring this month,

adding that amount to Clement’s transfer fund for the January transfer window could have made all the difference.

As many as two or three more faces might follow Fabio Silva to Ibrox during

this month’s busy transfer market for the Gers,

but the team needs a healthy cat to finalise any deals.

The Belgian has made no secret of the desire to bolster

the roster and bring in quality players after Michael Beale’s summer transfer window left him with an uneven squad,

something the new manager is keen to rectify this month.

The former manager of the Gers spent a great deal of money on transactions last summer,

which have undoubtedly proven to be expensive.

This is especially true of the choices made to sign Sam Lammers and even Jose Cifuentes,

both of whom have failed to have the immediate impact that was expected of them

upon their respective transfers to Ibrox.

In a way, Clement is being punished for those choices since he now

has an uneven team and less financial strength than he would have had otherwise for those individual wastes.

A £1.4 million profit from Tillman’s transfer to PSV may have greatly aided

Clement and transfer manager Nils Koppen, who would need all the resources

they can gather to guarantee they are able to bring deals over the finish line.

Bayern Munich now intends to ruin that chance by making a recall choice that

will be expensive for the German team.

The Germans will expect prompt answers,

regardless of the reasons for the German powerhouses’ desire to sever Tillman’s permanent transfer

when he appears to be flourishing at PSV thus far this season.

Bennett and Koppen will be really unhappy.
