There are rumors circulating in the Netherlands that Utrecht is trying to sign Sam Lammers on a loan from

Rangers.

The offensive midfielder, who only joined the Ibrox team in the summer after leaving Atalanta for £3.5 million,

hasn’t performed up to par in Glasgow. Before being fired, Michael Beale made an effort to keep with him, but

Philippe Clement has gradually removed him from the starting lineup in recent weeks.

Fabio Silva, 26, may become even more marginalized given that he has already been added on loan within this

window of opportunity. A return to his native country is reportedly imminent, according to reports from AD/UN

and De Telegraaf, although Eredivisie side Utrecht appears prepared to provide him a lifeline.

They allegedly have already started attempting to negotiate a deal with the Gers in order to secure a loan that

would last until the end of the current campaign. Lammers is unlikely to have much of a future at Ibrox, even if it

is a loan.

Previous reports suggested Beale was interested in working with the player again after his appointment at

Sunderland but that was soon played down.

Lammers is contracted until 2026 after signing a three-year-deal last summer. He has two goals in 31

appearances this season, including a stunner at Dundee which is his undoubted highlight at Rangers.
