Jamie Newton, a young player for the Rangers, is reportedly close to signing a contract with Nottingham Forest,

a Premier League team.

The 18-year-old midfielder played for the Ibrox team’s B squad the previous season, albeit he was not utilized as

a substitute in any of the team’s three SPFL Trust trophy games.

But according to reports from a number of sources, he has now decided to relocate to the City Ground, where

Ross Wilson, the former sporting director of Ibrox, currently works with Forest in a comparable capacity.

A two-year contract is rumored to have been offered, and this week might see the completion of the transaction.

Rory Wilson and Billy Gilmour, for example, were recently cherry-picked from Ibrox to premier English clubs

before breaking through as excellent players at Ibrox.

A number of SPFL clubs are reportedly interested in signing promising Ibrox goalkeeper Jay Hogarth to a loan

agreement.

Hogarth had a good season at Alloa Athletic last year, and according to the Daily Record, a number of League

One and Scottish Championship teams have them on their desired list.

The 20-year-old is Nicky Hogarth’s brother, the keeper for Falkirk.

Following the injury that sidelined Bayer Leverkusen player Victor Boniface for Nigeria at the African Cup of

Nations, Cyriel Dessers, a striker for Rangers, has been placed on standby.

Despite facing a lot of criticism for his performances this season, the 29-year-old Ibrox star has still managed to

score nine goals, including a pivotal goal in the Europa League against Real Betis in Spain.
