James Tavernier, the captain of the Rangers, has been called a “key target” and may be leaving on a shock transfer.

Since the start of the January transfer window more than a week ago, there has been much discussion over the kind of business Rangers intend to pursue.

As Philippe Clement leads his first window as Ibrox leader, a lot of stuff has been expected. Although talk of players

like Lawrence Shankland and Scott McKenna hasn’t been all that shocking, a recent claim may surprise supporters of

the Green Bay Packers.

According to football transfer rumors and gossip website TEAMTalk, James Tavernier, a modern-day club legend

and Rangers captain, may be leaving Glasgow this month. The website stated that the 32-year-old was a “key target”

for several Saudi Arabian clubs on X, formerly Twitter.

They stated: “According to TEAMtalk, several Saudi Pro League clubs are interested in signing Rangers star James

Tavernier during this month’s transfer window. Is the #RFC legend on his way out?

Since joining Rangers in 2015, Tavernier has made over 400 appearances and scored an incredible 117 goals for the

team. The Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup, Scottish Challenge Cup, Premiership and Championship titles are

among his many domestic medals.

In addition to winning the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award in 2021 and being inducted into the Rangers Hall

of Fame last year, he has been chosen to three PFA Scotland Teams of the Years.

Even though he has accomplished everything for the Ibrox club, supporters won’t be prepared to see their important

captain go.
