Clement’s Rangers can give themselves a chance in title race’
Now that winter break is upon us, it’s appropriate to pause, look back, and provide a brief mid-season evaluation on the season thus far.
Thus far this season: 6/10
The season must be studied in two parts. Regarding the segment on Michael Beale, I would rate it a zero out of 10. The Philippe Clement phase follows, where we won the Viaplay Cup for the first time since 2011 and defeated a Europa League group.
Despite his five-point slump, he has the team playing well, and if we win our remaining games, we might cut the lead at the top to just two points.
Given what he inherited, I would rate the beginning of the Clement era a strong 7.5 out of 10.
Jack Butland is the best player by a long shot.
Nobody else compares, and he even made a huge stop at 0-0 in the most recent game against Kilmarnock. He’s already the Rangers’ season-long acquisition.
Sam Lammers is the most disappointing player.
a significant investment yielding meager returns.
Supervisor assessment: 7.5 out of 10.
With the manager leading the team instead of Michael Beale, Rangers are headed in the right direction, and supporters are optimistic about the future.
Estimated position in the table:
There are a lot of moving parts here. Rangers will have a chance to contend for the title if they win the two games they have at hand. That being said, I think we have a much better chance right now than we did following the Aberdeen loss at Ibrox. What we do in the window could prove to be our undoing.
