Celtics’ Luke Kornet explains hilarious free-throw antics vs. Pacers
Luke Kornet, the center for the Boston
Celtics, was having a great time as his
team defeated the Indiana Pacers 118-
101 on Saturday. Kornet scored four
points in 16 minutes of action, including
two very entertaining free throws.
Kornet went to the line and made two
free throws as the Celtics were leading
by four points at the end of the third
quarter. He struck them, then turned to
face the Celtics bench and gave them a
“ice in my veins” celebration:
“I’ve seen folks do this after taking very
amazing pictures. And since the free
throw in that circumstance was a cool
and impressive shot, I thought it was
suitable,” said afterward according to
Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe.
For the Celtics this season, Kornet is
averaging slightly over three rebounds and five points.
Boston is in need of another strong man.
Toronto Raptors center Chris Boucher
has evidently been on Boston’s radar for
some time, according to Yahoo Sports
reporter Jake Fischer. The Raptors, who
have already dealt away forward OG
Anunoby this season, could also make some changes at the deadline.
Fischer stated, “The Celtics would
definitely like to find a couple of other
guys.” “For instance, I know the Celtics have liked Chris Boucher.”
Boucher would not be easy to acquire
into Boston in a possible deal. The 6-foot-
9 big man’s salary this season is almost
$12 million, so the $6.2 million traded
player exception the Celtics received in
exchange for Grant Williams would not apply to him.
On Monday night, Boston and the Pacers
will play each other once again. Tyrese
Haliburton, a star guard for Indianapolis,
had to be helped off the field during the
game due to what appeared to be a leg injury.
