The Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown didn’t post about Buffalo Wild Wings early on Tuesday morning because he was in the mood for chicken.

In actuality, the two-time All-Star was making fun of the dubious refereeing during Monday night’s 133-131 loss

to the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers’ sharpshooter Buddy

Hield was called for a foul with only three seconds left when it seemed that he struck Brown in the head during

the Celtics’ attempt to break the deadlock. The call was

reversed, preventing Brown from going to the line, and the Pacers used their own free throws to win the game.

What connection does any of this, then, have to Buffalo Wild Wings? The Celtics star noted a post that

questioned the contentious decision on X after the unexpected turn of events, saying, “We see you @BWWings.”

There was no mishap in linking the tag directly to the official Buffalo Wild Wings account.

The fast-food company released several ads featuring players actively

interfering with games years ago. In this basketball video, a cameraman fumbles a layup that could have won the game.

In this football ad, which is perhaps more relevant, the referee makes a bad call to deliberately send the game to overtime.

Brown will undoubtedly pay a fine for both this post and his remarks about the officials made after the game.

The Celtics’ good news is that they aren’t too harmed by this loss. They have a league-best 28-8 record, are still atop the Eastern Conference rankings,

and have just lost two of their previous ten games.

And while Brown could have had a chance to beat the Pacers at the charity stripe, he still dominated.

The Georgia native scored a season-high 40 points with fellow star Jayson Tatum out and will have

another chance at revenge when the Celtics host the Pacers on Tuesday, January 30th.
