Young player’s departure from Rangers benefits both the player and his new team – “Acting like a leader”
Robbie Ure left Rangers on a free transfer, and he joined with Anderlecht in Belgium to play for their Futures team
in the Challenger Pro League before Philippe Clément took over at Ibrox.
He has impressed many with five goals and two assists in ten games for the secondary Belgian team, according to a
Het Nieuwsblad article.
The 19-year-old, who made three appearances for the Rangers first team before to departing, is biding his time for
the time being, understanding that he will probably receive an opportunity for the Anderlecht first team in the
future.
The striker was “looking for a new team” after “deciding to leave” Ibrox, and the Belgians believe a “favourable set
of circumstances” helped them land him. The outlet explains how the move came about.
He left Rangers to pursue football elsewhere after feeling that they didn’t “offer him enough development
opportunities.” He originally tried out for AZ Alkmaar and then Anderlecht.
The signing of Ure has gone far better than anticipated; his role was to replace the productive Lucas Stassin, who
signed with Westerlo. Assistant manager David Hubert of the Futures described the signing of Ure as an
opportunity they simply “had to seize.”
The former Rangers player, who gained a lot of knowledge from being around the Ibrox first team in Scotland, is
adding expertise to the youthful squad.
According to Hubert, the youngster we spoke with was extremely mature for his age, and he demonstrates this by
acting in a leadership capacity. He was already a member of the Rangers’ first squad, as evidenced by his
behaviour.
“I never got the impression that he considered his coming to be a setback. I attribute it to both his maturity and the
project we were able to provide him.
In summary, Rangers’ lack of commitment to the young striker is helping Anderlecht’s Futures team.
