Updates on two possible Ibrox exits in January are given by a renowned Scottish journalist.
Reports that Ridvan Yilmaz would depart Rangers in January carry “a fair bit of weight,” according to eminent journalist Chris Jack.
But the top Herald & Times writer acknowledges that the Rangers are “keeping their cards close to their chest” when
it comes to signings and departures this winter.
Ridvan Yimaz, 22, a left-back for the Turkish national team, has been heavily connected to a January transfer to
Verona of the Serie A.
And now it appears that the dismal 18-month stay in Glasgow is drawing to a close for the former Besiktas player.
Chris Jack discusses Ridvan Yimaz
During the Morning Briefing of the Rangers Review, Chris Jack was questioned regarding Ridvan Yilmaz’s circumstances at Ibrox.
This is the journalist’s response to the question of whether Rangers would be searching for a new left-back during this window.
“I believe they will be,” Chris Jack remarked. Ridvan (Yilmaz) appears to be making his way toward the exit.
“Those Italian stories are fairly credible. Unfortunately for us, Rangers are playing this window very close to the vest.
“I won’t go into too much detail about the ins and outs, but every tale has two sides, and anything that doesn’t come from this end is probably coming from the other.
“Those reports that came out of Italy over the weekend haven’t exactly been disproved.”
Borna Barisic will leave his position as Rangers left back?
This month, rumors about Ridvan Yilmaz leaving the Rangers have not only surfaced.
Borna Barisic, a 31-year-old Croatian international, has an expiring contract at the end of the current campaign and has also been frequently linked to leaving Ibrox.
Could Rangers afford to lose two? Jack said in response to the question of whether Barisic could depart the team this month as well. In my opinion, they are likely conducting more business in one section of the pitch than I had anticipated.
“I believe that Ridvan will most likely be let go, and that fee will then be used to bring in a left-back who you’ll then be building that position around for the next few years.”
