After taking over as manager of Rangers in October,

Philippe Clement made a commitment to be “very active” in the January transfer window.

Clement wants to add his own unique touch to the team that Michael Beale left behind.

The Belgian, nevertheless, has cautioned supporters not to anticipate a summer filled

with the same number of new arrivals as under his predecessor.

Striker Fabio Silva, who is on loan from Wolves until the end of the season,

is the first fresh face in the door.

The number of new players who join the young Portuguese player at

Ibrox may depend on how much money is released by players who are rumoured to be leaving,

such as Sam Lammers and Ridvan Yilmaz.

These ten players have been connected to a January transfer to the Rangers…

Josh Doig – a £3 million transfer from Hibs 18 months ago,

is a Scotland Under-21 international who has impressed at Hellas Verona.

According to reports, Rangers has made an enquiry about the left-back and may try to

work out a deal with the Serie A team on their £5.5 million asking price for the 21-year-old.

Lawrence Shankland – The prolific Hearts striker,

who scored 28 goals last season and 19 for his club and country thus far this season,

would almost certainly score goals.

Rangers will need to decide if they are willing to pay the £5 million asking price for the 28-year-old,

who still has 18 months left on his Hearts contract.

Steven Alzate – According to reports,

Rangers and Brighton have discussed a potential January transfer for the Colombian midfield player.

Although the 25-year-old is presently on loan at Standard Liege,

his home club is willing to recall him if they can sell him during the January transfer window,

according to Belgian publication DH les Sports.

Rangers is reportedly one of the clubs reportedly interested in

purchasing the seven-time international cap player before his contract ends in the summer.

Kevin Van Veen – The former Motherwell striker,

unable to find a home at Groningen, is considering a return to Scotland.

He said that he rejected Rangers’ summer approaches,

but now he says they are “still interested” in signing him.

Van Veen scored 29 goals for Motherwell in the previous campaign, but Ibrox sources

Million Manhoef – Another player who has been mentioned as

a Rangers target is the winger for Vitesse Arnhem.

The highly regarded Dutch U21 international is estimated to be worth over £2.5 million.

Should Rangers choose to pursue him,

they would have competition for his signature.

After receiving approval from Nils Koppen,

the club is reportedly poised to strike after tracking him for a whole year.

Owen Beck–After an impressive loan spell at Dundee,

Rangers’ attempts to sign the Liverpool left-back have been foiled.

Rangers will have to find another player as he was called back by Anfield to

cover for injuries and is unable to return on loan.

Fredrick Oppegard –The Norwegian to-21 international left-back for PSV has five first-team matches to his belt.

The previous season, he was on loan at Go Ahead Eagles,

a top-tier Dutch football team.

In August 2022, PSV and Rangers drew 2-2 at Ibrox in a Champions League play-off match.

He was not used as a replacement.

Kai Wagner –The 26-year-old German player for the Philadelphia Union,

who has made 138 MLS appearances and scored five goals,

is another left-back that Rangers are keeping an eye on.

He was included in the league’s Best XI in 2022.

José Cordoba – one of the two Levski Sofia players who the Bulgarian media has connected to Rangers.

The Panamanian international centre defender, 22,

is reportedly drawing interest from Besiktas, Panathiniakos, and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Andrian Kraev –The second Sofia player linked to intriguing Rangers is a

talented 24-year-old midfielder (6 feet 2 inches) with eight Bulgarian caps.

With six months left on his contract, he could be available in January for a lower salary.

He was previously connected to the Bundesliga team Kaiserslautern.
