‘Quality’ January update emerges at Rangers with triple transfer on cards – report
After a busy summer, Rangers are prioritising the addition of “quality”
players over quantity during the January transfer window, according to The Fourth Official.
Fabrizio Romano previously revealed this internet outlet,
which has stated that they would be shocked if the Bears signed more than three players before the end of the month.
According to reports, Philippe Clement is looking to recruit a “proper forward,”
and a triple deal seems likely given that Wolves’ Fabio Silva has already arrived on loan.
The Fourth Official posted the following on Patreon [7 January] in their most recent update:
“Rangers are linked with a lot of strikers,
which is not surprising considering Clement wants a proper forward this month.”
“Hopefully, Rangers will choose quality over numbers when signing players this season.
If they do sign more than two or three,
I would be shocked. An added bonus would be if Rangers could move Sam Lammers and other
players out during this window.
Naturally, easier said than done.

Quality.
Compared to the summer, when Michael Beale seemed to be throwing a lot against
the wall in the hopes that something might stick,
this message is already very different.
With a few exceptions, players like Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers have not succeeded thus far; yet,
Rangers require reliable stars in order to succeed both in Europe and at home.
It’s unclear from this update if Silva will have three players behind him or
if Clement will be the only one strengthened by two more players on top of Silva.
Although the Belgian has previously been connected to several players from his last team at Ibrox,
no real progress has been made in the last week.
Thoughtful play at left-back, in midfield,
and in the final third could mean the difference between winning and losing those crucial trophies,
so this is definitely something to keep an eye on.
The revolving doors of Auchenhowie and Ibrox are the centre of attention.
