Star footballer Joseph Anang of West Ham is confident that his abilities set him apart from other players.

Joseph Anang, a confident player for West Ham, claims that his abilities set him apart from other players in his position.

In recent weeks, there existed a possibility that club goalkeeper Joseph Anang might have started for West Ham in the Premier League.

Anang was the next in line to wear the keeper’s shirt should anything happen to Lukasz Fabianski, since Alphonse

Areola was hurt and there was a sickness going around the Hammers camp.Given that Anang, a 23-year-old, had no

significant first team experience, this was a fact that alarmed many West Ham supporters.

Anang claims that his abilities put him on a different level, but his fans shouldn’t worry if such scenario occurs in the future.

The Ghanaian bragged about his skill as a shot stopper in a long interview posted on West Ham’s official website.

However, he also asserts that he possesses highly significant talent in the modern game that fans might not be aware of.

Lovely feet

Anang claims that his distribution and footwork skills set him apart from other goalkeepers.

“I think my shot-stopping is good as a goalkeeper,” Anang stated in reference to his skills.

“But I’m on a different level because of my distribution, which is really important in today’s football.”

He is not incorrect. There are a lot of Pep Guardiola fans in the football world, and they all value distribution and playing skill.

However, it’s quite challenging to train young goalkeepers these days. Anang will probably have to wait a while for that to happen because Areola, a World Cup winner, and the far more experienced Fabianski are ahead of him.

Wonderful to witness such confidence

To be really honest, we might never witness Anang’s ball talents in the West Ham first squad.

But how amazing is it to witness such confidence and self-belief from one of our academy alumni?

During a loan with Stevenage, Anang experienced English league football. And even if things went south quickly, he claims he’s used it as motivation to do better.

Anang continues, “Playing League football with Stevenage was a great experience.”

“I played ten or twelve games there, starting as number one, but for some reason my performance just dropped, and

a new manager just brought his own ‘keeper,’ so I returned to West Ham.”

Being dropped wasn’t a pleasant thing, and it was really difficult psychologically, but I didn’t let it depress me;

instead, I used it as motivation. I simply continued.
