Rangers could sign “electric” Dessers upgrade this January

Cyriel-Dessers

While all Premiership teams are on winter break until January 20, Glasgow Rangershttps://dailysportnews.co.uk will not be playing.

Philippe Clement may utilize the next few weeks to determine which targets he wants to sign in the January transfer window.

The Ibrox team has had a successful few weeks despite a recent Old Firm loss to Celtic. They won the League Cup at Hampden and advanced to the Europa League knockout stages,

earning their first trophy since May 2022.Clement will be motivated to bring in a few newcomers this month since he will be expecting more after seeing success so early in his reign.

A fresh name has surfaced and this may be a signing that changes everything. Over the past few days, a few names have been connected to moves to Scotland.

After Alfredo Morelos’ departure last summer, Michael Beale sought a replacement, and Dessers was considered a top target because of his ten goals for Cremonese in the 2022–2023 season.

After his first few games, it was evident that he was never going to be the kind of player to take Morelos’ place since he lacked the clinical edge in front of goal and was unable to intimidate opposing defenders.

In fact, Dessers has only managed nine goals in 30 games for the Ibrox team this season, and he lacks the decisive scoring instinct needed to play center forward for the Gers.

In addition to ranking fifth for scoring frequency (a goal every 187 minutes) and 14th for successful dribbles per game (0.4),

the 29-year-old has missed the most big chances of any player in the Premiership this season—11—and these numbers make it abundantly evident how much better he needs to perform in the second half of the campaign.
