Unai Emery’s team needed a late goal from Matty Cash to win at Riverside Stadium, so it makes sense that the right-

back was overjoyed following the game.

In his post-match interview, the Aston Villa man shared that he has a ‘full-back coach’, which seemingly took

presenter Mark Chapman by surprise, as broadcast on BBC One.

Matty Cash stated that the fullback coach ‘works closely’ with him, including the wingers, and how the detail on the

training ground from Unai Emery is just ‘crazy’.

That shouldn’t be a surprise given the year Aston Villa have just had and how the team is showing signs of

progressing even further.

It’s just great to see the team finally progress in the FA Cup and now, hopefully, go on a bit of a run.

If that is to happen, then players like Matty Cash are going to be very, very crucial as he shared his thoughts after the

game.

Goal by Matty Cash ends the FA Cup tie.

Cash remarked, “It’s crazy, the detail we work on is amazing.” “The manager always knows the answer since there is

a different solution for each game we play.

Sometimes I want it to go a little deeper, but he still lets me participate in the play. There are moments when I can tell there’s room inside and space outside. However, sitting deeper and playing passes is also enjoyable.

“He (Emery) has greatly enhanced me.” We have a fullback coach that works closely with me, as well as him.

“Did you say you have a fullbacks coach as well?” questioned Mark Chapman.

“We have a fullback coach who works closely with the wingers and stuff,” Cash retorted.

Everton is up next.

The team’s much-needed clean sheet was the one significant plus from the victory over Boro, and it should give them

some confidence heading into their match against Everton.

This will not be simple by any means. Yes, the team led by Sean Dyche is ranked 17th in the Premier League

standings.

However, that was following a ten-point deduction; their performances have undoubtedly exceeded what the table

indicates.

Even though Villa defeated Everton 4-0 in the Premier League to begin the season, they also triumphed over us at

Villa Park in the League Cup. This will be our first home loss in any tournament since February, and the trip to

Goodison Park will be even more difficult.
