Celtics Wrap: Jayson Tatum Leads
Cakewalk Victory Over Jazz At TD
Garden on Friday, the Boston
Celtics thrashed the Utah Jazz, 126-97.
The Celtics increased their record to 27-7
with the victory, while the Jazz fell to 16-
20.Here is the complete box score.
ONE BIG TAKEAWAY
Boston annihilated Utah right out of the
gate and never looked back.
The Jazz, coming off a 154-point
offensive outburst, were unable to find
their shooting stroke or challenge the
Celtics’ double-digit advantage
throughout the game. Utah didn’t help
itself either, giving up 26 fastbreak
points to Boston and making 18 mistakes.
That made Will Hardy, the new head
coach of the Jazz, and former Boston
assistant Kelly Olynyk, the center for the
Celtics, have a rough “welcome back.”
With a game-high 30 points, Jayson
Tatum spearheaded an overpowering
Celtics offense and made sure the Jazz
couldn’t rally back. After consecutive
double-digit scoring quarters in the
second and third, the 25-year-old took a
well-earned break in the fourth.
Until the very end, the reserve unit held
the fort and the lead. Sam Hauser scored
13 points, five of which came from the
bench, and drew five rebounds to finish with a plus-17 in 23 minutes.
Boston, now 17 games in at TD Garden, remains the only undefeated NBA team at home.
STARS OF THE GAME
— Tatum provided an elite three
quarters, finishing with his 14th 30-plus-
point performance this season, shooting
6-of-12 from the field with nine rebounds and five assists.
— Kristaps Porzingis added 19 points on
seven shot attempts while grabbing five rebounds.
— Utah’s Lauri Markkanen supplied the
Jazz with 17 points, going 7-for-16 from
the field with five rebounds and five assists.
WAGER WATCH
The four-time All-Star cleared the +430
odds given by FanDuel Sportsbook to
shoot five or more 3-pointers by the
beginning of the fourth quarter. Tatum
would have paid out $530 total for a $100 wager.

The Celtics will next head for the road to
take on the Indiana Pacers. Tip-off from
Gainbridge Fieldhouse is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
