Johnathan Hankins, a defensive tackle, might be back in the Cowboys starting lineup on Sunday.

After missing the previous three games due to a high ankle sprain, Hankins participated in limited drills in each of this week’s three practices.

He is just one of the team’s seven dubious players.

It becomes less probable that left guard Tyler Smith (foot) will play after missing all of this week’s practices.

La’el Collins was signed to the practice squad this week by the team, but T.J. Bass took Smith’s spot in Week 17.

Collins worked at left guard this week after playing the position at left guard during his rookie season before switching to right tackle.

The Cowboys have also listed safety Malik Hooker (ankle/sickness), safety Juanyeh Thomas (illness), defensive end Chauncy Golston (illness), and center Tyler Biadasz (illness) as questionable.

Biadasz was a recent addition to the injury report. He was absent from practice on Friday.

After being absent on Thursday, Armstrong resumed limited work on Friday.

The return of running back Rico Dowdle (ankle) this week is excellent news for the Cowboys, as Deuce Vaughn, their third-string running back, gets placed on injured reserve.
