With an eye toward a permanent contract in the summer, the Hammers defender Thilo Kehrer has concluded his loan move to AS Monaco, a team in Ligue 1.

The German intern made 50 appearances in a claret and blue shirt during his little under eighteen-month stay at

West Ham, which included a substitute appearance during the Conference League Final in Prague in June.

After joining for £10 million from Paris St. Germain in August 2022, Kehrer found it difficult to maintain a spot in

David Moyes’ starting lineup. He has only made two starts in all competitions this season.

The 27-year-old leapt at the chance to return to France after becoming dissatisfied with West Ham’s lack of first team opportunities; the move was brokered by Will Salthouse, David Sullivan’s preferred agent.

On their website, the French club announced the arrival of Thilo Kehrer, saying, “AS Monaco is delighted to

announce his arrival.” “The German international defender is on loan from West Ham United Football Club until the

end of the season, with an option to buy.”

If Kehrer stays at the Louis II Stadium past this season, the Hammers will regrettably recover the transfer cost they

paid to PSG because that option to buy is estimated to be worth around £10 million.
