Unless a deal is struck between all parties, Alan Hutton believes the transfer amount Brighton will demand to sell

Abdallah Sima permanently could prove to be too big of a “stumbling block” for Rangers.

The Senegalese forward is on a season-long loan at Ibrox, but the former right-back for the Gers and Scotland has

acknowledged that he would prefer to see him stay there permanently. Along with goalkeeper Jack Butland, the 22-

year-old has scored an amazing 15 goals in all competitions so far this season, making him the club’s most successful

summer addition.

The English Premier League team is rumored to be demanding between £7 million and £8 million, but Hutton

doesn’t think the Gers will be able to match the Seagulls’ asking price unless they want to spend a lot of money to

recruit him in the summer.

Hutton was eager to emphasize that kind of amount has been uncommon in the contemporary era, even if he

recognized the Glasgow giants have paid that kind of money in recent years as he cited Ryan Kent as an example.

He disclosed this to Football Insider. “I believe they’ll get him if the offer is good. If Rangers spend between £10

million and $15 million on a single player, I’ll be shocked. Only if they get him for a price they’re happy with, I don’t

see that happening. They have previously spent enormous sums of money, such as the £7 million they paid for Ryan

Kent. They have occasionally paid these kinds of fees, but I am unable to see anything more.

Looking at Lawrence Shankland and Kevin van Veen, I don’t think they’ll cost nearly that much. Personally, I hope

Sima continues to remain. He is beginning to show his best side to us. We are aware of his goal-scoring ability, but

the cost is a major roadblock.”
