Aston Villa Star Still Eyeing January Exit
According to reports in Italy, Clement Lenglet is emphatic about wanting to leave Aston Villa in January and AC
Milan is thinking of using him as a backup in the event that they are unable to get Lilian Brassier.
The 28-year-old center back left Barcelona during the summer transfer window to sign a season-long loan with Aston Villa.
Nevertheless, Lenglet was left out of Unai Emery’s starting lineup and only made his Aston Villa league debut on December 22 against Sheffield United.
Lenglet has made suggestions that he is looking to leave, but it hasn’t been obvious if he wants to. He also says
Emery has spoken to him to change his mind. Calciomercato.com, an Italian publication, claims that Lenglet has not
modified his desire to leave Aston Villa during the current transfer window.
The French defender is attracting interest from Italian powerhouse AC Milan, but they only see him as a backup
should they fail to get Lilian Brassier of Brest, who is their top target.
Although it’s been reported that Barcelona would be willing to end Lenglet’s contract with Villa Park, Emery is
hoping to keep him for the end of the campaign.
It is now unknown what drama Lenglet, an Aston Villa loanee, will face in the future.
