Rangers confirm Ibrox upgrades with expanded singing section and new disabled seating

As part of a number of stadium improvements,

including improved disability facilities, the singing section, home of the Union Bears,

will be extended to behind the Copland Front goal as of the 2024–2025 season.

Season ticket holders who are now located in that section of the stadium

will have the opportunity to migrate to a newly built cantilever after these improvements.

According to a statement posted on the team’s website,

“Rangers FC is pleased to announce new seating arrangements within Ibrox Stadium,

which will take effect for the 2024–2025 season,

after a significant period of consultation with supporters and numerous stakeholders.”

“The club has long-aspired to add further accessible viewing spots at the back of the Copland Front,

which will bring the total number of wheelchair-accessible spaces to 153,

the highest of any stadium in the Scottish Premiership.

“In addition, the club will increase the singing section inside

the Copland Front in response to input from supporters and men’s first-team players,

as well as from trials conducted earlier in the season.

“Ibrox is known for its atmosphere across the world,

and the club is dedicated to making it even better to make sure that our well-known

home field continues to be one of football’s most iconic locations.

In addition to these modifications,

a new cantilever with about 1000 extra seats will be built in front of the Copland Rear,

increasing net capacity by nearly 600.

These new seats will have some of the best views of the Ibrox pitch.

“As part of this, some fans occupying the current seats will be moved,

and the club is well aware of the sentimental attachment some fans may have to their location within the stadium.

The five backrow rows across rows CF1 to CF5 (W, X, Y, Z, and AA) will be replaced by the new accessible platform,

and the singing section will be situated at seats 86–99 in CF3 and 100–113 in CF4.

“Should they be impacted by the modifications,

those who are being relocated will also automatically be assigned seats

beside their current friendship and family groupings,

and they will have the first option to renew inside the new cantilever.

“The update to these amazing new seats is guaranteed to

please supporters who relocate to the new cantilever section.

Naturally, some people may not agree with the adjustment,

in which case they will be given preference when it comes to seat transfers if their season tickets are renewed.”

On Monday, February 12, a special in-person meeting with club management is scheduled for impacted supporters.
