Head coach Michael Carrick has stated that Middlesbrough will be able to use three recently injured players when they play Aston Villa,

the second-placed Premier League team, this coming weekend in the FA Cup.

In recent weeks, Middlesbrough has struggled with a number of injuries; in certain matchday squads,

as many as 13 players are absent. According to club captain Jonny Howson’s own admission,

they have struggled with consistency and results as key players have been sidelined at the same time.

But with crucial matches coming up, such as a two-leg FA Cup semifinal against Chelsea and a matchup with Aston Villa,

the Boro manager has given a good report on three players who should be back on the field this weekend.

He stated that Emmanuel Latte Lath, Hayden Hackney,

and Matt Crooks will be up for selection in an interview with Teesside Live.

The three are back in training, but we need to decide how each person is doing on an individual basis.

The youngsters will get a little boost and the squad will be strengthened if they can contribute in any way.

It’s in the balance, right? We have that balance with the boys that have returned; are they prepared or not?

We’re working hard to strike the correct balance.

Even if this is a one-time event, we still want to give ourselves the best opportunity.

He also gave updates on Paddy McNair, Anfernee Dijksteel, Marcus Forss, and Lewis O’Brien,

saying they were getting farther away from coming back.
