Journalist Fabrizio Romano has updated on possible departure of Nayef Aguerd in January

It’s unlikely that any sports writer is as well-known and esteemed as Fabrizio Romano. He is a close friend of The

West Ham Way and appears to have connections with every team in the league. The Hammers are reportedly

considering selling Nayef Aguerd, but some fans aren’t sure what the real situation is.

Thankfully, Fabrizio has been able to provide additional details on the situation after Dharmesh stated that West

Ham would consider offers.

“As @skysports_sheth called, Saudi clubs have made contact with West Ham regarding Nayef Aguerd,” the Italian

tweeted to his 19.4 million followers.

“Aguerd, very happy in Premier League,” the statement said. “AS Roma and AC Milan have also made enquiries, but

financially not possible as West Ham will NOT accept loan proposal.”

Aguerd has occasionally demonstrated his brilliance, although his performance has been patchy. Our own

Ex WHU Employee stated that the club would contemplate a deal, but only if they got their money back. He has failed to fully justify his price tag.

It may be a little harder to arrange a deal because he is traveling with Morocco for the AFCON. But as we all know, if

Saudi Arabian clubs truly want to sign him this month, they have the financial means to do so. They were also interested in signing him in the summer.

Our Irons will really need to sign a center-back if Aguerd does leave.

Although David Moyes will undoubtedly be disappointed to see him go, it may also be an opportunity for him to strengthen his defense by adding a more reliable, steady player.
