Aston Villa teenager Lamare Bogarde might be moving to Aberdeen on loan
The 19-year-old midfield player Bogarde is eager to join the Dons at Pittodrie for the second half of the season. He recently returned to Villa Park after a loan at Bristol Rovers.
According to reports, Aberdeen is interested in loaning their young player, Lamare Bogarde, to Aston Villa. Now that
the January transfer market has opened, Reds manager Barry Robson is hoping to bolster his team in an effort to
turn things around for the second half of the Premiership season.
Although Aberdeen is unlikely to be very active this month given that they bought 13 new players last summer,
Robson has indicated that the team may try to bolster if the appropriate player becomes available.
Aberdeen eager to sign Dutchman Bogarde
Furthermore, Aberdeen is eager to sign Dutchman Bogarde on a season-long loan, according to The Athletic. The 19-
year-old midfield player is anticipated to play away from Villa Park for the majority of the season after returning
from a second loan stint in EFL League One with Bristol Rovers, where he made 18 appearances.
In addition to his usual position as a central midfielder, Bogarde can also play as a defender. In 2021, he was a
member of the Villains U18 FA Cup winning squad. After leaving Feyenoord to join the Premier League team in
2020, he has made six appearances for Villa’s first team, all of which have occurred in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.
But according to the same source, Sunderland will compete with Aberdeen for Bogarde’s signature. Black Cats
manager Michael Beale is a big fan of the player and had a working relationship with him while he was Steven
Gerrard’s assistant manager at Villa.
Bogarde is a Netherlands young international who signed a contract with Villa Park that runs until the summer of
2025. Earlier this year, he earned his first cap at the U20 level.
